DVD to YouTube?

What is a good program to use to convert a DVD for youtube. It is a 30 min dvd so I would have to split it. Would I convert it and split it all at the same time or would I convert it and then split it? And also what would the best output settings to put it?

Given the amount of YouTube converter spam we get, I hope this is a genuine question.

Try Divx pro... definately gives you good value for money and allows you to resize to YouTube dimensions fairly easily.
